When it comes to repairing your roof, NO ONE can touch Ron William's "Roof Doctor". We repair lots of Shake roofs, we recently got called out to do repairs on a shake roof that had just been "repaired" the previous year. When we arrived it was obvious why the repairs had failed. Below left are the "shims" the Contractor had used. To save money and time, they take regular shims and split them into little slivers. Then because they are so small, as soon as the shims dry a little they shrink and fall out. To an experienced roofer, these shims are a joke, and these consumers were ripped off. Below right are our minimum width shims. These two were sold as the same thing, but as you can see it's not even close.
